ABOUT THE STAFF…
Sarah Halterman owner- lead designer
Sarah started Sweet Art Bakery in 2007, after spending many years as an elementary school teacher. Holding a Bachelor of Science from Texas Woman’s University is far from a degree in culinary arts, but the transition to this new career was an effortless one- as she has been tapping into her creative side her whole life. An entrepreneurial spirit and desire for self expression are key factors that motivate her, and are the foundation of Sweet Art Bakery’s success. Well, that… and really yummy cakes!
Amanda Foose designer
Amanda came to Sweet Art Bakery in the Fall of 09. She was looking for a new career path that would utilize her creativity and knowledge of small business. Before Sweet Art Bakery, Amanda worked in the apparel industry as a designer, manager, and in wholesale sales. The experience she gained in the apparel industry allows her to have a fresh design outlook when working with cakes! Knowledge of small business operations also comes in handy for assisting in the various aspects of keeping the business side of things running smoothly. Amanda’s desire to create, learn new things, and her attention to detail make her a perfect fit for Sweet Art Bakery!
Sweet Art Bakery is the recipient of Wedding Wire’s 2009 and 2010 Bride’s Choice Awards. The staff are active members of the DFW Association of Wedding Professionals.

You’ve seen the shows- Cake Boss, Ace of Cakes, and the Food Network Challenges (among sooo many others). The glitz and glamour of crazy cakes and the stress of the competition is what makes these shows irresistible. Have they sparked an interest in you?
Sweet Art Bakery currently has a summer intern position open! Care to explore the world of cake with us? This is a non-paid 3 month internship for the months of June, July and August. We are looking for an individual who possesses motivation, a positive can-do attitude, and an eagerness to learn and work. We offer a fun and relaxed atmosphere where creativity is nurtured and the tricks of the trade abound.
This position entails everything from washing pans to mixing icing colors, emptying trash to icing cakes, filing paperwork to crafting sugar details; basically, the everyday tasks of running a bakery.
Applicants must be 16 years or over, have reliable transportation, hold a Texas food handlers card or be willing to obtain one, and be available weekend hours (specifically Fridays and some Saturdays).
